What is
Invisalign^® treatment?

Invisalign® treatment is unique in that it straightens teeth without requiring a patient to wear braces. Yes, you read right – no braces!

Instead, Invisalign® treatment uses a series of clear, removable plastic aligners that look like thin sports mouthguards to move your teeth into position. They’re custom-made to fit your exact smile and because they’re made from clear plastic they are so discreet that no one needs to know you’re having treatment.

What’s more, Invisalign® clear aligners won’t interfere with your lifestyle because you can take them out to eat, brush, floss and enjoy your favourite activities!

How do Invisalign^® aligners work?

Invisalign® clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth using 3D scanning technology. Every two weeks you need to change to a new set of aligners as each set is shaped slightly differently to guide your teeth into alignment.

Although you’ll need to change your aligners every two weeks, you won’t need to see us for an appointment that often. Instead, we’ll get you to come in once every six to eight weeks for your next batch of aligner trays.

Types of
Invisalign^® treatment

At Class 1 Orthodontics, we use four different types of Invisalign® treatment:

Invisalign® Comprehensive– This is the original method of Invisalign® treatment which is ideal for patients with major orthodontic problems. Treatment time usually takes between 18 and
24 months.
Invisalign® Lite – This version is for patients who only need minor orthodontic corrections to the six front teeth. It’s one of Invisalign®’s fast treatment options because results appear in as little as six months.
Invisalign® Express – Another of Invisalign®’s fast treatment methods, Invisalign® Express can correct minor orthodontic problems affecting the front six teeth in as little as three months!
Invisalign® First – We also offer Invisalign® treatment for children. Invisalign® First aligners are designed for children who will need orthodontic treatment later in life. These aligners can help prepare the teeth and jaws, and reduce the extent of future treatment needed in the process.

Invisalign^® for teens

Invisalign® treatment is also a popular option with our teenage patients here at Class 1 Orthodontics. There’s enough to be self-conscious about as a teenager without needing to put up with a mouth full of metal. Our team prefers to use Invisalign® aligners as a method to straighten our younger patients’ teeth whenever possible.

We can also make having orthodontic treatment easy for our teens by including a blue dot wear indicator on your aligners. These help you keep track of how many hours a day you are wearing them, which for optimal results should be 20-22 hours per day!

The aligners are practically invisible: Because Invisalign® treatment doesn’t use brackets or archwires, most people won't even notice you're having treatment.

remove your aligners to brush and floss as normal, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.
The aligners are removable: If you have a special event coming up, there’s no cause for worry. On the night, simply take your aligners out. It’s fine to remove them for a couple of hours a day.
